The second day in L.A was dedicated to the beach and going out. We went out to see what this shabby area would look like during the day and it was fabulous!!! Huge beaches with an hilarious boardwalk filled with hippies/bums selling more or less crap... The smell of weed hanging over the area carried away with a freezing breeze... We tried to be courageous and put our bathing suits on, but I could only handle a couple of minutes; enough time to get some pictures where we seem to be enjoying a warm day on the beach... It's just an illusion!!! We walked romantically along the beach until we reached the bay watch and turned back onto the boardwalk and stumbled upon a skateboard park with this TINY guy – couldn't have been more that 4 or 5 years old – skating the shit out of his older friends!!! He was sooo cute and everybody was fascinated by this miniature creature...
We had to hurry back because we were having lunch with my friend Heidi at Shutters and were supposed to meet her at the hotel at 1.30, except she thought it was at the Hotel Shutters (the restaurant is actually called One Pico) and I thought it was at our hotel... two blonds – gotta go wrong... But we made it in time for our reservation and it was a beautiful place, right on the beach with great food that it took forever to order because we couldn't stop talking!! The waiter was desperate, the poor guy...
Heidi had the whole day laid out for us (Cédric's plan to go and look at guitars fell through), next on the program was watching sunset from The Penthouse top floor bar – stunning!! We almost missed sunset because the valet was so slow, but we managed to get the 5 minutes of sunset at 4.30p.m - it's sooooo early!! And then she told us about the toilets: they also had the view!! I've never seen toilets with a view before!!
We finished the evening early with a couple of other friends at this typical English bar– having seen sunset at 4.30pm, the night became really long! When time came to leave, we were supposed to take Heidi back to her mum's, but we couldn't find the car!! Finally, we found out we were looking in the wrong parking.. oops!!
All of this had made us hungry, so Cédric went for burritos and his ended up exploding on the dash board!! But they were damn good... Thai-good!!! Burritos are not Thai, are they...? (I know they're not...I'm not that blond!!) LOL!!!
