Then, at around 4 p.m, we started driving down towards Santa Cruz on the US 1 South Coastal Highway. The view was beautiful until it got dark – which we realized is REALLY early!! Luckily we had the GPS to guide us – finding a hotel once we were in Santa Cruz was NOT easy in th dark!! We ended up in a cosy motel and went out for dinner in Vida – an Italian restaurant with great food and cocktails!! I think I can actually LIVE ON scallops.... yum-yum!!
Santa Cruz by night is mostly beach bums hanging around singing and talking and nothing much else!! But we were looking forward to checking out the place in daylight...
